About MARACAIBO

When wandering through the vibrant streets of Union City, a hidden gem awaits at 1218 John F. Kennedy Blvd—MARACAIBO, a treasure trove of Venezuelan flavors. The moment stepping inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere wraps around like a cozy blanket, with the faint melody of Latin music dancing in the air and the welcoming aroma of freshly cooked arepas teasing the senses.

The menu at MARACAIBO reads like a love letter to Venezuelan culinary traditions, offering a delightful journey for both the adventurous and the comfort-seeker. A standout among the entries is the Arepa Pabellón, a glorious concoction of shredded beef, black beans, cheese, and sweet plantains, all hugged by a crisp corn patty. It’s the kind of dish that speaks to the heart, evoking memories of home-cooked meals and family gatherings. For those leaning toward lighter fare, the Ceviche Mixto bursts with freshness—a tangy, citrusy delight swimming with shrimp, white fish, and octopus, perfect for a sunny afternoon.

Yet, it would be remiss not to mention the empanadas. Golden, crispy perfection meets a soft, flavorful interior, with fillings ranging from savory beef to tender chicken, each bite offering a uniform crunch followed by a sumptuous, savory melt. And when it’s time for something sweet, the Quesillo, rich and velvety, complements the meal, leaving behind the sweetest of parting notes.

Amidst the buzzing ambiance and mouthwatering dishes, service at MARACAIBO enhances the experience, with staff who are attentive without hovering and knowledgeable about every detail of the menu. Patrons often remark about the infectious energy of the place—a lively buzz without being overwhelming, like a favorite neighborhood haunt where everyone is welcomed with open arms. A glance at the reviews reveals high praise, with many returning time and again, a testament to both the food and the vibe—like finding comfort in a favorite song's familiar melody.

Venturing to MARACAIBO is like embarking on a small adventure—surprising, delightful, and utterly satisfying. The blending of traditional recipes with a touch of creative modernity ensures that each visit offers something new, yet comfortingly familiar. Perfect for both the curious newcomer and the regular who finds joy in their go-to orders, MARACAIBO entices with the promise of not just a meal, but an experience worth savoring.

It was truly an incredible experience. The place is spectacular, with a warm and special atmosphere. Gustavo, our waiter, along with Elvis, Salvador, and the manager Daniel, provided impeccable service. They were attentive, kind, and always paying attention to every detail. The food was simply wonderful; it reminded me so much of Venezuela, those flavors that fill your heart with nostalgia. And the drinks… they are out of this world! Creative, delicious, and perfectly crafted. I went with my family, and it was a 10/10 experience. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful time at Maracaibo!!! I came with my fiancé and my in-laws who are all Venezuelan and the food, ambiance, and service could not have been better. Hiiiiighly recommend the cachapas with pernil! Also the espresso post-meal was delicious and full flavored. Darwin and Brian helped us and were so kind and welcoming. Will be back 10000%!!

Excellent friendly service, delicious food, fabulous presentation, family friendly atmosphere. We had a great time! Parking is limited but they have valet parking, for tips, which I highly recommend. We are visiting from Florida, and this is our First time eating Venezuelan food. All around recommended.

I really liked the food! It was delicious if you are from Maracaibo Venezuela it takes you back home with every bite. I enjoyed it a lot! The servers were attentive and friendly. P.S parking in Union city sucks but thankfully they have valet parking😅.

A friend took me here to celebrate my birthday. The ambience is understated elegance with a touch of whimsy with the presentation of the cocktails and food. I really enjoyed the shrimp arepa bowl and steak with onions. We had 2 cocktails, one appetizer and the two entrees for about $90. Everything tasted great and the service was friendly and professional. I hope to return soon!
